Airlines are waiving change fees across a number of states as a big winter storm moves across the southern United States. Scroll down for the latest rebooking-waiver policies in place at big U.S. carriers. 

American Airlines

Cities covered (Dec. 9-10): Asheville, North Carolina; Johnson City/Tri-Cities, Tennessee; Charlotte, North Carolina; Greensboro, North Carolina; Greenville/Spartanburg, South Carolina; Knoxville, Tennessee; Lynchburg, Virginia; Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina; and Roanoke, Virginia.

Cities covered (Dec. 7-8): Amarillo, Texas; Fayetteville/Northwest Arkansas; Joplin, Missouri; Oklahoma City; Springfield, Missouri; Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Waiver highlights: Eligible customers can make one change to their itineraries without paying a change fee or new fare. Travelers must rebook new travel by Dec. 15 for Southeast cities or by Dec. 11 for Plains cities. Travelers rescheduling travel beyond those dates may be able to rebook without a change fee, but they may have to pay a recalculated fare.

Cities covered: Fayetteville/Northwest Arkansas; Fort Smith, Arkansas; Oklahoma City; Springfield, Missouri; and Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Dates: Covers travel on Dec. 8.

Waiver highlights: Southwest does not charge change fees, but eligible customers can make one change to their itineraries without paying a recalculated fare. Flyers rescheduling for beyond 14 days of the original travel date can use the remaining balance from their original ticket toward a new fare.
